Notes

My grandmother used to wear an actual fox fur as a scarf when I was a child, I have terrible memories of this lifeless fox with plastic eyes. I loved animls so much and was so sad they were hunted down and used as accessories. This is my way of turning childhood memories from sour to sweet. I hope the day will come when animals will not have to die for their fur.

Modifications:

  • I followed the instructions, but didn’t like how “unfinished” it looked in the back, so I ended up folding it and sewing it. I didn’t feel like unripping, otherwise I would have done it in the round to begin with. I don’t like having to sew unless necessary, it doesn’t look very nice.

  • For the same reasons, I decided to knit the tail in the round. I changed the increases and decreases a bit, adjusting it, but pretty much followed the instructions, just doing it in the round, so now it looks the same on both sides.

  • Legs knitted in the round as well, picked up only 8 stitches, and decreased 8 times along the leg.

  • Gauge is slightly off, so I made the head slightly smaller, skipped last increase.

  • Decided to do the ears with main and not with contrasting colour.

  • I love the MC yarn, it’s got enough mohair to make it look fuzzy, fur-like, and it’s soft and warm.
