Notes

The hat is worked from the top and down.

Based on the comments of others who have made this hat, I decided to knit it in the round, which I think is easier. If you work in the round, you don’t need the extra two stitches that are intended for seaming. So CO 12 instead of 14 onto 4 dpns. Work pattern on dpns until you have enough fabric to switch to a circular needle.

I bound off in the standard way, but the result was too tight. Tried again using “Simple Stretchy Bind Off” (Staci Perry’s Youtube), which is super stretchy and worked perfectly for this hat’s brim.

Dimensions: 11” long and 22” circumference after blocking.

Used every bit of the yarn skein. This yarn is sort of stiff to work with but softens up nicely when washed.
