To replace my well loved store-bought linen sweater.

Knit on 5.5mm needles, even though the yarn is slightly lighter than what the pattern calls for and gave a more open fabric (I’ll wear this as a summer sweater, and the dropped stitches need a camisole underneath in any case).

While I love the oversized version, a boxy shape is not flattering for my body type. I made a number of mods for a more fitted silhouette with longer narrower sleeves;

• Body: cast on for the smallest size, and knit two full repeats of the weave pattern instead of three, finished width approx 17in / 44cm

• Sleeves: knit separately (I prefer a seam to picking up stitches) cast on st count for long sleeve version, decreased down to 43 sts, knit to approx 21in / 54cm before cuff detail, omitted setup (increase) row for cuff, bound off with k2tog
