My first sweater pattern, for sale in my Ravelry store.
The Toasty Woolover was inspired by the yarn and the sheep & ranch from whence it came. Disdero Ranch is a small-scale ranch inspired to produce a variety of unique, all-natural, and minimally processed fibre from their sheep and goats. It is nestled in the North Thompson Valley, British Columbia, Canada, where their flock and herd frolic on lush pastures.
This is a rugged and unadorned unisex sweater with a tight gauge and loose fit to be worn as a warm extra layer for those cold-season days. It features a seamlessly integrated front pocket with a subtle i-cord edging that gives it strength where needed. The pocket is deep enough to hold what you need and keep your hands toasty warm too. Double knitting in the round and flat as well as short rows are included in the detailed instructions.
The Toasty Woolover is worked from the bottom up and in the round to the armholes after the split folded hem. Front and back are separated and worked flat until the shoulder seams are joined in a three-needle bind off. The sleeves are worked in the round, top down, concluding in folded cuffs that are whip stitched into place by hand. The generous hood is worked flat and grafted at the top for a seamless finish. I-cord edging at the neckline blends into a folded hem around the hood that creates a pocket for a cord of your choice to be thread through.
