My skirt idea: Fitted from hip to waist, then a gentle flare to midi length (mid calf). I think I was inspired by how Catherine, the Princess of Wales, wears her dresses and skirts.

• 1” ribbed band. Folded, with 1” elastic band sewn in. Zero ease from waistband (26”) to widest part of hip.

• Increases worked at even intervals lengthwise

• Waist and bottom hems folded and hand sewn in place.

• Skirt length after hanging on mannequin for a few days is 35”. I’m guessing there was about a 1” drop.

I’m happy with how I figured the math out correctly, how the increases look, and how it looks generally. Would love to see this on a human.
