Since the Lace weight hat was so thin, and before I knew I would like it that way, I started one in fingering, but not following the color design. It was a spur of the moment thing.

I am close to being finished and tomorrow will use the silver color for the ‘band’ somehow, to give it some design.

Might make this again using more deliberate colors. It’s a fast work up and stretches nicely! I think it will stay on the head better than a lot of crocheted hats.

I finished this last night. The sock yarn isn’t what I would call soft…maybe after I wash it and put a fabric conditioner on it. Not sure my DSD will like it, but feel I should offer it to her as she is losing her hair from chemo.

The pattern is super great for stretch to stay on the head! The next one I make I will use a smaller hook on the last several rows to get a more rounded look where the bottom holds the head more.

I measured this hat. It is 20.5” in circumference, but measures 10 when flat on a table. It is 8” long from the tip to the bottom of the border.

I used 3.5 hook to the rust and then from the first rust row and the rest of the pattern I used a 3.0 hook

Heidi likes the stretchy stitches like I do, so have two colors picked out already to make her another one. Will make it a tiny big snugger around the rim/band and maybe make it a tiny bit wider and could make it longer since she likes the baggy look. If it is too big it won’t be a problem to reduce the length to her liking.
