Down to my last ball of yarn 2.5” after joining in the round (measured from bottom of arm hole to the bottom edge). Working the folded neckband before continuing the body -- 10 rows/2”. If I had more yarn, I would have added a few rows to the neckband. It is a bit shorter since I used thicker yarn.
It will definitely be more cropped than anticipated, but that should work nicely over dresses.

Bound off for a cropped fit (4.5”) after the arm hole, as I was running out of yarn, but it didn’t look right -- even over dresses. Ripped it back to the last row before ribbing and will have to buy more yarn.

Neckline is difficult to get over my head. I think that’s from folding over and stitching. Hopefully this will expand after blocking. Next time, I’ll cast off on larger needles.

Finished each arm hole with two rounds of single crochet.

Worked 7.5” from underarm (including crochet finishing) before starting ribbing. This length is much better!

Worked 8 rows of 1x1 rib at the bottom and cast off using this stretchy cast off: https://pompommag.com/blogs/tutorials/stretchy-cast-off-k...
I probably didn’t need to use a stretchy bind off as there’s positive ease. It worked OK this time.

After reflecting on this one for a bit, the fabric is far too stiff. This was my mistake because I used worsted-weight cotton when the pattern calls for DK. I decided to rip back the neck, as it was too tight, and finished with two rounds of crochet.
I’ll try this pattern again with DK wool — probably Double Sunday.

I had hoped I could find a way to wear this, but my poor choice of yarn made this feel like a suit of armor. It had no drape and was so boxy and unflattering (by no fault of the pattern).
I ended up frogging the whole thing to harvest the yarn. I would 100% try this again with proper materials – likely dark grey Double Sunday.
