This project’s soundtrack: “Behind Blue Eyes

I started this project a long time ago, but it ended up hibernating until I moved to Germany and was in a language class 20 hours a week. Suddenly, its repetition and simplicity were perfect for class knitting!

I used the Icelandic Bind Off at the end after knitting the final knit round in the garter ridge, replacing the final purl row with the bind off.

Now to wait until I’m back Stateside to block this thing…

And back and blocking! I also decided to add the Gaelic word “uisge” for “water” to the name… “Crooked Water” sounds pretty good to me.

Post-blocking: I like it, but fear that the size I chose is a little too wide for my personal cowl tastes. In addition, the yarn is a little too fine to hold a solid shape/line along the chevrons after blocking (the pointed edges are not staying flat, either…). We’ll see how it wears a time or two, but I might reblock it and use starch or something to hold the points a bit better.
