NOTE: This pattern makes a firmer, more longer-lasting fabric in sport weight yarns instead of fingering. My socks are pretty floppy this time around.
This pattern’s just so darn addictive and seems to move so quickly. The last pair turned out to be for my sister but THIS PAIR IS MINE. Literally the last two pairs of socks that I started for me turned out to be/go for others. I WANT SOME NEW SOCKS.
I love this colorway, too - blue, blue, blue to make your eyes dilate to take in. Love.
I started this yesterday May 17, 2010 and this is just such a chip knit that I got most of the foot done. That’s saying a bit since my row gauge is really not as big as with the last pair so it’s taking me a bit longer to go as far. Thanks to having a really tight knitting habit, my row gauge is far fewer per 4” than the pattern’s 48, too. My stitch gauge is tighter than the pattern’s too, but that’s not a bad thing since the last one turned out rather loose for my foot, hence going to my sister.

Well, after a long period of resting, I’ve restarted - As of yesterday I’d completed just about all of the foot. I need to check my measurements for when I began the heel business on the first one and then I’ll be on into that!

Got all the way to the origami moment on the second one and realized that I’d managed to skip an entire section of directions. That was Thursday night. I’ve now caught back up and will start in on the leg tomorrow, most likely.

All done! Yes, the fabric is very floppy. I have a feeling that because the fabric is so loose, they won’t last very long. We’ll see. Still, in the future I’ll reserve this pattern for sport weight yarns only.
