Using leftover yarn from my Totally Tubular Turtleneck to make Mac a matching sweater. I’m using bits from my Edinburgh and Portland Dog Sweater patterns.
Mac’s measurements
Neck: 28 cm
Chest: 45 cm
Neck Ribbing
With 5mm needles, Cast on 40 sts. Work in 1x1 rib until reach desired length.
Chest
Switch to 6mm needles.
Round 1: K entire round
Round 2: M1L, K to the last St in the round, M1R, K1.
Work Rounds 12 times for a total of 64 Sts.
Arms & Harness Holes
Round 1: Knit 2, Kfb, BO 10 Sts (begin BO using the extra St created with the Kfb), move remaining St from the BO from the right to the left needle, K2tog, Knit to the last 14 Sts in the round, Kfb, BO 10 Sts (begin BO using the extra St created with the Kfb), move remaining St from the BO from the right to the left needle, K2tog, Knit 2
Round 2: Knit 3 , CO 10 Sts, K to second armhole, CO 10 Sts, Knit 3
Round 3: K entire round
Round 4: Knit 29, Kfb, BO 4 Sts (begin BO using the extra St created with the Kfb),
move remaining St from the BO from the right to the left needle, K2tog, Knit to end of the round.
Round 5: Knit 30, CO 4, Knit to end of the round.
Midsection
Work in straight stockinette until you’ve reached your desired length. Leave extra room for 1x1 ribbing.
Back Section
Row 1 (RS): K until you have 11 Sts left in the round, turn.
Row 2 (WS): P until you have 11 Sts left in the round, turn.
Row 3 (RS): K to the DS from the previous row (without knitting it), turn.
Row 4: (WS): P to the DS from the previous row (without knitting it), turn.
Keep working Rows 3-4 until satisfied with length. You should finish with a WS row. Place a stitch marker after the last DS. This will now demarcate the beginning of the round.
Work in 1x1 ribbing until satisfied with length.
