second project for secret online magazine. I get to play with color on this one :) I’ve always wanted to use one of the Rowan tweed yarns, and I’m looking forward to it. My only worry is that the colors are more muted (English color spectrum tends to be a bit grayish) compared to the sample I sent in. I wanted more saturated colors. Hopefully my vision will still translate in the more subtle colors.
actually hit gauge, to my surprise. working with the combo of colors to find the one most pleasing to the eye. The husband helped considerably in this task.
pattern graded, rough rough draft written. Cast on and started.
12/13/12 change of plans. The original publication is winding down and offered the option to retract the design. I exercised that option and I’m going to send this elsewhere and use different yarn. it should still work out.
1/13/13 we’re back in business! the other publisher took the pattern and I’m awaiting yarn.
4/3/13 I finished the first part and formally wrote out the pattern. Got close to finishing the second when I found a careless mistake that cost me two days worth of knitting. Ripped back and tried again only to do the same thing in a different spot!! Ripped back again and hopefully (baring more bone-headedness) I’ll be finishing this up tonight. The pattern is already at the editor and it’s looking pretty good. Just waiting for the photographer to return and then this baby is off to KnitPicks central :)
5/2/13 We got the photo shoot done and I must say, the pictures are really good, lol. I put up a little teaser. This just went out into the interwebs and now I’m just awaiting approval and the official release date!
6/7/13 the pattern is now live on the Knit Picks website: http://www.knitpicks.com/patterns/gingerbread-armwarmers-...
