This is the third time doing this project. I am using double strands of a little heavier than lace weight yarn making it about a sport weight so my gauge is off. I put 12 rows of garter stitch as a band and then knitted as per pattern. I find with this yarn there isn’t quite enough width on the beret portion.. I’m hoping that adding an additional 3/4-1” to the depth will rectify this. Will try again.
