Notes

Making a cowl in this scrumptious yarn using the Nightingale chart. I have loved this pattern since I first saw it but am not much of a sock knitter. A cowl, however, is a great accessory for my work wardrobe!

These pictures are before blocking.

CO 170 st. About 26” long by 12” wide.

Round 1 k blue; rounds 2-7 corrugated ribbing; round 8 k blue; round 9 k green; round 10-11 k blue. Rounds 12-14, single stitch checks, starting with chartreuse.
Round 15 k blue; round 16 k chartreuse; round 17 begin chart.

After chart, round 1 k chartreuse, round 2 k blue, rounds 3-5 single stitch checks, starting with chartreuse. Rounds 6-7 knit blue, round 8 k chartreuse; round 9 k blue; rounds 10-15 corrugated ribbing; round 16 k blue; BO.

Next time I make this, I need to make it thinner and longer, and see if I can do something different at the edges, so that the corrugated ribbing can be seen. Actually, now that it’s been blocked, the yarn is relaxed and I like how it looks on.

Pattern was received in a swap from Kim, knitswithsilentk, April 14, 2011.
