using KP yarn although it has been proven to felt for me.
34 stitch repeat of argyle pattern from Moth Heaven, worked asymmetrically according to the Minerva’s Argyles instructions. I sized it up from a 32 stitch repeat, so I cast on 70 sts and worked 2 repeats. This does mean the diagonal lines are offset just a bit and I had to rip back once or twice when I made a mistake… hard to explain.
Heel is worked over sts. 2-35 on the first heel, sts. 36-69 on the second. I worked 34 rows of the columnar heel stitch, then worked a round heel (k to center stitch plus 2, ssk, k1, turn; purl back to center stitch plus 2, p2tog, p1, turn) until all 34 stitches were worked, then picked up the 17 side stitches and continued working gusset decreases on each rs row (k1, ssk, k to 3 sts from end of heel section, k2tog, k1) and continued with diamond pattern on top side.
Finished 7/13/15. I bought extra “stroll” in “sapphire” yarn from KP to nearly match the kettle dyed Jay I started with. They fit, and Peter has been cautioned to never machine dry them since that’s the biggest culprit in felting for this yarn in my experience. Whether he will comply on that is out of my hands.
