Gift yarn supplemented with the purchased - which was luckily an exact match.
Modified pattern so it was knit in one piece from the bottom up. Continued in pattern at the raglan seams instead of the garter stitch specified by the pattern. Inserted a zipper instead of buttons.
Used a double strand of the sport weight throughout, knit at 15 st/4 in in moss stitch. Gauge was larger than specified so this is a heavier coat sweater rather than an indoor cardigan - but I live in Minnesota!
