A note about beads:
The designer added pearl (traditional gift) beads to this square in honor of the 30th anniversary of Cascade Yarns®. Adding beads is totally OPTIONAL. Beads can be purchased from your local bead or craft store. The beads used by the designer had a pearl finish but any size 5/0 seed beads will can be substituted for a different look.
Sixteen beads are needed to follow the option in the pattern. If you choose to use beads it is important that you string them on the yarn before casting on. Simply thread your working yarn through a yarn needle, string on 16 beads, and keep them pushed down and out of the way until they are used.
