The yarn arrived at Andréa’s today, and I’ve bought the pattern, so that means I’ve started, right?

I wound the yarn a couple of days ago, and I started knitting yesterday from the purple end and it didn’t look right. So I inspected other people’s projects with the same yarn and pattern and concluded that I should have started from the green end - and today I started again from the green end. It’s actually striping now! :P

I have to take the stitch marker out of the work and then put it back again a lot, so I’m going to either drop it or swallow it at some point, I think.

I’ve almost finished and there is really quite a lot of purple left. I think I should unravel to the end of part 1 (over half the work! ) and add another section of part one before starting part 2…

Look how close I got to the end before I ran out of yarn! I only did one extra section of stockinette at the end of section 1, too.

So I let it sit for a couple of weeks, and just today I started cannibalising the purple-blue sections of some handwarmers (also All Together Now) that no one is buying, which does seem to be working very well actually. Nice.

Update: Heck yes! Finished it this evening. :) Next up, weaving in the ends and blocking - which may happen after I move house…

Tip to tip this shawl is 2m 10cm long. At its widest point it’s 48cm wide.

I actually blocked this in April, but failed to get around to marking it finished. :D
