I’ve been meaning to make a 6 color spin ball for quite a while now, never got around to it, never really felt like it either.

Then, I had all this leftover cotton from the rainbow loafers and knew I just had to give it a try!

I made a 36 st ball (meaning I increased to 36 sts before I started working even) and at the end, after I decreased to the final 6 sts I worked another round of sc, then one round of sl sts to tighten up the end. Something about working with multiple colors means the final opening is going to be much bigger than if you were just working with one color.

A vague break down:
rnd 1: magic ring (figured it would be a tighter close)
1 sc of each color into ring.
rnd 2: inc to 2 sc of each color.
rnd 3: inc to 3 sc of each color.
rnd 4: inc to 4 sc of each color.
rnd 5: inc to 5 sc of each color.
rnd 6: inc to 6 sc of each color.
rnds 7-12: sc around.
rnds 13-18: decrease rounds. decrease by 1 sc of each color each round.
rnd 19: 1 sc of each color around.
rnd 20: 1 sl st of each color around.

To finish I made 2 braids of 3 colors each of the yarn ends, then I tied those braids together and wove it all in.
