MAJOR ARGH!!… what I thought was an error in this pattern was actually my personal failure to follow the directions!!! So embarrassed! The terminology and nomenclature of these patterns are REALLY COOL … and unique. But so important to follow precisely!

New MONSTER BOOK - arrived a couple of days ago and finally digging in!!! SQUEEEEE!

Pattern Book not in RAVELRY DB yet… the book is more of a ‘recipe’ book than an actual pattern. Found 2 errors already in the 1st pattern - obvious math errors- so might be a bit much for a beginning crocheter - but it’s only been ‘out’ for just a few days - so I imagine, eventually all the errata will be published on the publishing site.

But I am SO excited to have this in my library!

Added Fun Fur Hair to back and top of head - necessitating every-other-row estimation of amount of yarn to ‘loop back’ - about 2 yards for back-of-head only row-pairs (thank goodness I can hide messy extras inside of Monster!!!) Otherwise, he’d have a hairy face… Tsk tsk.

Misc. details - made modified crocheted eyes per book instructions, used polyester~silk Blue-green “ribbon yarn” to mimic the cool ($$) glassy safety eyes… not bad! LOVE the knobby elbows on the arm… even if the arms are way too long for the stubby legs… Two-pointed/two flat teeth for mouth… thought about doing more (tongue? Antlers? Nose?) but it would be overkill. He’s more or less complete. Already 1/2 way through my next one! I am In LOVE with this book!
