Notes

Taking advantage of already crazy coloring of this sweater by making some fun fishy hats. I doubled up on yarn to make it closer to worsted weight; combining the striped from the front and plain purple from the back. Sleeves were doubled together for a second big ball of yarn, which I’m using for bottom, tail, and fins. Yarn is a little tricky because I didn’t remove most of the stretchy filament that was knitted into the sweater. Typically for repurposed yarn, it’s also kinda lumpy - I don’t wash/soak it before knitting with it. That resolves when I wet block the finished garment. I figure I’ll get at least 2 fish hats out of this sweater - not bad for $2 (the sweater was 1/2 off as it had been there awhile!)
