Using a scrap piece of acrylic to mark rows in spiral crocheted legs (see picture close up?) … counting as you go always ends badly due to interruptions mid-course (was that 4 rows or 5?) Might also try A bit of either plastic lanyard lacing or “spaghetti” lacing I have in my craft stash (it’s hollow thin plastic tubing that expensive yarn stores are selling as knitting lifelines! Hint hint)

I just love the way the Mandala yarn seems to work out to make sections of coordinated color… could add/delete rows or pull from the middle of the cake if I was pickier. Some people have been known to actually cut the different color sections apart for even more “control” (thus creating more ends to tie off - but everything gets hidden on the inside - so less stressful, right?)
