Made a smaller neck opening by casting on for size 2X (110 stitches) and then increasing to size 3X count for remainder of sweater… Makes the front neckline more U-shaped.

Twisted neck opening on first attempt - just as well… Stitch count was off… Fabric looked nice, at least, but might need texture. How much do I want to mess with this pattern?

5/28/13 - much nicer with this yarn than the recycled sweater yarn… more visually rewarding at the very least.
9/24/13 - finally tried on and, as I feared, my shoulders are much narrower than the sweater’s. I think I’m going to tink/frog back several inches so that the seam is closer to my actual dimensions. Sigh.
