Great pattern !
The topping was a bit challenging at first, but not because of the pattern itself. I had a minor challenge because I was trying to avoid the foundation sc method. Once i got comfortable with the stitch, I was able to breeze through the project.

I do like that the top and bottom of the pastry are worked separate and seamed together afterwards because it makes the project look very clean when finished.

The pattern calls for fabric glue to attach the top layer. That didn’t work for me, as I couldn’t find a glue that would work well with the yarn. I also didn’t want to risk a small child perhaps playing with this ans putting in theirs mouth. I opted to use sewing thread instead to put the top layer on. That was time consuming, but I think and overall safer option.
