I made this blanket for a lovely young man who did a lot of work for us when we moved into our new house - he was with us for so long he almost felt like one of the family! When he told us he and his partner were expecting their first baby it was the perfect excuse to get my crojo back .

Also a great excuse to make some more of Polly Plum’s fantastic Stardust Melody squares - I had to relearn the chart reading and the invisible corner turn but after a while it all came back. One of my all-time favourite pattern collections from a brilliant designer. I also used another favourite - the no-hook-out continuous join from Margaret McInnes - then made up the border as I went along.

Just heard it’s a boy!! The blanket was gratefully received and will be treasured.
