I LOVE this pattern. Anne has cleverly created the perfect elephant shape in three dimensions just from simple motifs joined together (like the equally brilliant Heidi Bears) - genius!

Making two more little elephants for a couple of friends. They’ll be scaled down like Sesame, with the saddle cloths and head plates in the recipients’ chosen colours. The motifs are quick and easy but the construction is a bit of a challenge - as always though the decorations at the end are enormous fun so the whole thing is a labour of love!

Finished the first one (shades of pink and burgundy) but forgot to take final photos (with a bit more bling) before I gave it away, so will have to ask for it back temporarily!

Getting on well with the second ‘commission’ but not too happy with the coloured parts - my friend wanted a poppy theme and though she chose the colours for the motifs I think there’s too much black and not enough red. So… I’m making the whole elephant in grey and adding the coloured parts separately, so if my friend isn’t keen when she sees them they can be changed.

Finished the second! Worried for nothing - my friend was thrilled with the colours exactly as they were . Managed to find some “rubies” to add to the silver, pearl and diamond decorations. Thank goodness for charity shops…

Really enjoyed making these but it’s probably time for a change!
