11-16-2022

I finished the body but I think it’s too small still. I can’t decide if I’m going to restart it at some point or just do something different with this yarn because the center part just sits unflatteringly on my mommy tummy.

I’m pulling this out of hibernation to see if redoing the neck to be lower and more rounded will make me like the rest more. It was not easy to undo this fluffy single ply and I hope I don’t have to do it again…

The lowered front neckline makes me like it a little more but I’m just not in love. Maybe this was the wrong yarn choice or maybe I just don’t like this shape on my body. Either way, I am contemplating frogging this.

After I undid the top 3” I redid it with a lot more shaping on either side of the neckline to bring it lower, which made me like this more but I still wasn’t sold. Then I added the sleeves and really felt like they sat very weirdly when my arms were down. I very very nearly frogged this, to the point that I had undone the first few stitches of the neckline, but I decided to aggressively block again to try it one more time. I wasn’t convinced so I wore it all day and by the end I was totally on board. I really like this sweater now, and the thick wool makes it so toasty warm. It’s a great color too! I think I’ll use the rest to make a cardigan.
