Follow certain instructions in this leaflet most seriously, and pull out your pointiest needles for the embossed grape motif. Here’s a few other pointers, based on my experience.
1) Block all of those leaves right away. They look better when you sew them into the hole if they are blocked.
2) Usually, I’m a chart person, but in this case, I appreciated the written instructions as well. The chart comes in handy when you’re working on the wider aspects of the grapes.
3) Before you start knitting, write in all of those “repeat row..” as it always seems to entail flipping pages over and then forgetting which row you’re on.
4) As I reached the cuff of the first sock (size L), I worried about not having enough yarn to complete the second sock. Silly me, I added four rows after finishing the front grape panel before knitting the ankle grape panel. In the end, there were 6” of yarn left without knitting the extra four rows in the second sock. I did not go back to the first sock and take out the extra rows (er hm).
5) The next time they update this pattern, a table of contents would be so helpful! I finally created one of my own, as switching between the heel shaping and the grape panel was a pain!
6) Don’t get fooled by the page that describes “single grape “ That’s appropriate for your practice swatch, but turn the page while you’re working the sock to the “Embossed Grape Panel” or you’ll end up frogging a few rows like I did!

In the end, I did not embroider the tendrils or twigs. Just lost the love, I guess and was excited to send them to my sister, a mere 4 months after her birthday.
