So far so good. I’ve done the leather cap, the neck guard (also called back and sides), the “wide band around hat” and the ear flaps. I’m doing the mirror crochet with the tapestry stitch, which is a new method for me, and it’s going quite well. I’ve noticed a lot of miscounted stitches in the written pattern, so be careful to work back and forth between the pattern grid and the written pattern, and it’ll go ok. Can’t wait to keep going. I think the hardest part is next (the top band on the hat).

Ok.. 2 1/2 weeks of not so hard labor. Yes, it was a challenging pattern, but I only worked on it a few hours a day, sometimes taking a day off to get some things done around the house. This turned out beautifully and was a ton of fun to make. I am so proud of learning 2 new techniques (tapestry and mirror) that I am going to attempt the tapestry in another project. I am so glad I finally broke down and made this pattern.
