I’m using all my leftovers of Cascade 220 to knit a cozy for my new laptop - it’s a 17” widescreen and it’s really difficult to find a sleeve or bag for it to buy.

5 rows colour and 3 rows black 13 times in stockinette

6 rows black, front side in seed stitch, back side in stockinette

Back side only, stockinette with a 10 stitch seed stitch border around. Started decreasing very soon as yarn threatened to run out. The flap is now a little bit on the small side, I hope it’ll turn out ok.

The whole thing took almost 400 gram of Cascade 220, that’s 200 g black and 200 g colours (almost 15 g per colour, 14 colours in total)

The laptop sleeve took two runs in the washing machine, one at 40°C (with a pair of jeans), one at 60°C (with some towels). The size is almost perfect. I guess 10 to 20 st less would have been enough for a really tight fitting sleeve. I suppose I’ll line it with additional padding, then it will be fine.

I bought three felt flowers on the front at Textilmarkt Benediktbeuren.

ETA: I’ve put in D-Rings with knit and felted strips to hold them in the sides and combined with the removable strap of an old huge bag I now have a real laptop bag. For closure I’ve added the buttons. And my Mum made a lovely thick padded lining. Photos of all this still to come.
