5/26: gauge swatching…think I need an F hook

6/2: row 11 has a discrepancy between the chart and the worded directions (chart shows ch1s, the directions don’t mention them)…will follow the chart. Did through 1st repeat (row13) and it reminds me of a beautiful tree fungus one might find in Fangorn Forest if one were a Hobbit…

7/31: well, it’s been a long time…lots got in the way…but it’s done and has been blocking since last night…might take another day…made up my own simple border and will share that, too…what I miss about the blocked shawl is that lovely “tree fungus” texture of the unblocked shawl….I would have kept it unblocked (or very, barely blocked) if I’d had one more skein…maybe next time!

My manny was hanging out in the living room for a couple days while I blocked and photographed some shawls. Later, I saw this “modification” to her. And heard my 20yo son laughing. Everyone’s a comedian.
