Judith Copeland’s book is my favorite (easy, simple & efficient) method for designing crochet sweaters. It’s out of print, but you can borrow it from the library.

Center panel & sleeve trim, came from this book by Interweave Press. Bust & waist shaping were done with Elmore (half-step) stitches. Sleeves were worked flat & then side seams slip stitched.
