Couldn’t find a 2.75mm needle so I’m working the neck on 2.25mm instead.
I’m making this sweater in purple and beige to mirror the striped snowflake I made for myself a few years back. Another mother-daughter match :)

I messed up the lace setup, which I’m pretty sure I did the same the first time I knitted this pattern too. Somehow I always mess up. For size 2-4 years, it’s looking like this:
K1, PM, K32, PM, K11 - marking the middle stitch as centreline for the sleeve, PM, K32, K11 - marking the middle stitch as centreline for the sleeve, PM, K32, PM, K1. Also the edge stitches for the whole yoke are not to be confused with the edge stitches for EACH lace section.

Yoke is done. That was fast! Because my daughter is tall and skinny, I replaced the last increase row by a plain knitted row.

The body is done. I worked 2 series of contrasting stripes for the body (11 MC, 3 CC, 2 MC, 4 CC, 2MC, 3CC) X2, then worked 22 rows of the MC. I worked the body until I reached 9.5 in as opposed to 9 in recommended for size 2-4, again to fit my tall and skinny daughter better. Bottom edge was worked as per pattern, 1 in (10 rows) of seed st on smaller needles then cast off.
I still have 25 ish (24.8) grams of the MC and 39g of the CC, which means that I used about 45g of the MC and 61g of CC for the body. I will keep the same stripe sequence for the sleeves. As I will be working the sleeves one by one on DPNs, I will monitor yarn usage to make sure I have enough.
Needle size has not been consistent throughout this project, as I just used what I could find. I used 2.75mm needle for the neck instead of 3.25, then used 3.5mm for the bottom edge instead of 3.25mm. I will be using 3mm needle for the sleeve cuffs because I can’t seem to find a set of 3.25mm DPNs. I’m sure it will all be fine in the end.
I made my daughter try it on to size check, and it’s perfect! Can’t wait to get this off the needles so she can wear it.

I picked up one more stitch on each side of the sleeves between the underarm and the stitches on waste yarn. I always do this, I think it makes the arm/body junction that much smoother. I decreased those stitches on row 2. From then, I am working sleeve decreases every 11 sts (instead of 12 as per pattern) until I reach 37 sts (instead of 29 for size 2-4).

In an effort to maximise the length of the sleeves, I knitted 25 instead of 22 plain rows after the second stripe sequence, and I opted for a 1x1 rib cuff instead of seed st. Hopefully this will fit for a bit longer.
All in all, I used 13.7g of MC and 6.3g of CC for the sleeve. I have 11.1g left of the MC, so it looks like I will be short a couple grams to finish the second sleeve. I wanted to avoid having to break out a new skein for a gram or two, but I guess I will have to. I really couldn’t cut short on the sleeves. Unless I can find a somewhat similar yarn in my remnants stash.

Done! I made it to 22 plain rows with what I had left of the MC, then I completed with some left over Berroco Corsica. The color is not a 100% match but it’s close enough that I would not see it if I was not specifically looking at it under really bright light so I’m fine with it. It’s a 90% cotton 10% cashmere yarn so I think it’ll mix well with the mostly cotton yarns I have here. The sweater is absolutely adorable, I cannot wait for my daughter to try it!
