Row 1: Ch 6, Dc into the 6th ch from hook, Ch 3, Dc in same chain, Ch 1, Tr in same chain, Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, Sc in same st, Ch 1 space- 7Dc, 2nd chain of Ch 3 – Sc, Ch 1 space- 7Dc, In 5th chain of beginning 6th chain- Sc, Turn.
Row 3: Ch 6, Dc in Sc, Ch 5, Sk Shell, V-St in middle Sc, Ch 3, V-St in same stitch, Ch 5, Sk Shell, Dc in edge Sc, Ch 1, Tr in same stitch, turn.
Row 4: Ch 1, Sc I same stitch, Ch 1 space- 7Dc, Into 4th Dc of Ch 5 to anchor- Sc, Ch 5- Sc, Ch 1 space- 7Dc Into 2nd chain of Ch 3- Sc* Repeat ** to end Row - 7Dc in last Ch 1 space, Sc into 5th chain of beginning Ch 6, turn.

Repeat Rows 5 & 6 for pattern until the long side measures 18” (for me that was 14 rows). Make sure you finish on a Shell Row.

Ties
Along the top edge after the sc for the Shell Row edge, Ch 40, in the back bumps of chain, hdc in 2nd chain from hook and across the 37 chains (38 hdc). Keeping as even stitches as you can hdc across the top, Ch 40 after hdc in sc, in the back bumps of chain, hdc in 2nd chain from hook and across the 37 chains (38 hdc). Slip Stitch top of hdc.
