My big girl’s spring cardigan- size 8-10, with short sleeves
My sweet girl wanted to wind the yarn herself. <3
Sleeve mods: CO 46 with 5’s, k1p1 ribbing for 1.5”, switch to size 8’s and knit stockinette for .5” for 2” total short sleeves.
1/27- Either there’s an error in the decreases portion of the yoke, or I messed something up. I keep reading and re-reading the pattern and I’m not seeing what I missed, yet there’s no errata available and I don’t see where anyone else has mentioned an error with the decreases. The second row of decreases reduces your cable panel from 16sts to 14. Then in the next row the cable panel portion is knit for only 12 sts, and the following rows continue like that. WHERE DID I MESS UP? Cannot figure it out, and if I end up with two extra sts per cable panel that will substantially affect the FO. :headscratch:
1/28- Managed to wing it and finish. Obviously not right, but it doesn’t look BAD, just not like the example FOs. Talked to the designer and found out exactly what I missed. Serves me right for knitting a “complicated” part of a new pattern when I’m laid up with mastitis. My brain completely skimmed the decreases in row 5 of the yoke. UGH! Next time I’ll know! :-)
Picked up every stitch on the front button bands and did a repeat of p1,k1,p1,k2tog on the first row of each. Ended up with a total of 105 sts. Looks perfect.
Did 6 button holes because that’s what worked out proportionally- a 3-stitch buttonhole between every set of 14 sts.
Sitting in a conditioner soak for 8 hours as I always do for my PF FOs to soften the mohair, then I’m blocking it and on the hunt for the perfect buttons. DD decided she wanted wooden buttons from JoAnns she can choose herself, so that’s where we’ll head tomorrow. :-)
