The first time I finished my Tulip sweater was in November of 2019. Initially I thought that I liked the result, but the more I tried the sweater on, the more I felt that it didn’t look right.

I had knit it with long sleeves (bracelet length) which were quite narrow in the underarm area and not very comfy, and the body was too short for my taste. I knew that I would never be happy with it if I left it that way.

I decided to shorten the sleeves and to lengthen the body by just one pattern repeat. The overall look of the sweater totally changed. I liked it so much better!

But when I was going to wear my Tulip for the first time at the beginning of May 2021 I realized that I was still not happy with it. I had shortened the sleeves too much, they reached to the elbow and I have never liked elbow length sleeves. I still had wool available, therefore I made them a bit longer again.

May 22nd, 2021:
Well, after so many changes, I will leave the pullover as it is now… although I am not 100 % satisfied. Don’t ask me why… I don’t know what it is. I think Germans would say “da ist irgendwie der Wurm drin” :)
