Using granny square pattern, “Dandelion Fluff,” from Margaret Hubert’s “Granny Square Flowers” book. (pg 69)

Center modified to be a padded center to turn flower into a daisy:

1. adjustable ring center, 6 sc, join w/sl st
2. (no lifting chains) 12 hdc OVER previously made sc sts, join w/sl st. Tighten ring.

Petal modification: working in back-hump of hdc, sc around, join w/sl st. Work petals as stated in Margaret’s instructions.

Last row modified to be a “join as you go” edging on each square by creating picots in corners and every 5 sts apart.

Yarn Rating: 4 Stars. Not because it keeps splitting (I’m using a smaller-than-recommended hook on purpose), but because I keep finding “tuffs” (unspun fibers that look like tiny cotton balls) and knots, especially with the blue. I do love the rich colors, and how soft the yarn is.

Entered into The Bridgewater Fair. It won a Blue Ribbon, and Best of Show.
