I want to wear them at Lucca Comics and Games!
I don’t know if I have enough yarn, so I’ll surely make the ears and the hand part of the mittens (with a provisional CO), with the yarn left I’ll make first the headband (if I can) and then lengthen the cuffs as much as possible.

I made k2,p2 rib because i like it more; but I have to remember to GO DOWN A NEEDLE SIZE while making rib borders! Why patterns never tell so?
I started the first mitten with a bit of ribbing, but in the end I had to rip it out and start it over. RIPPING RIBS FROM THE BOTTOM IS A PAIN! But I had to restart them top-down to be sure I can lengthen them if some yarn is left.
I started the second mitten with a provisional CO and the hand part, because the ribbing pattern will shift if I make some bottom-up and some top-down!

aug. 31: Mittens finished (pink pads excluded). I used a whole ball and I’m happy with the cuff length. I hope the other ball will be enough for the headband.

sept. 7: Outer ears made, headband started.

sept. 9: Headband in standby. Inner ears made.

sept. 15: Afer several tries, I managed to make nice pads in stockinette instead of garter.

sept. 21: Pads sewn to mittens. Awry, but sewn.

sept. 23: Attached elastic to headband. Sewn inner ears to outer ones.

oct. 13: Sewn first ear to headband. I tried it on and saw it’s a bit off, but I don’t want to detach and reattach it.

oct. 15: Sewn second ear. I attached it slightly off-center to keep the right distance from the other ear, so
when the ears are in place on top of the head the elastic band in the back is not centered… but it’s covered by hair, who minds? Also taken an ugly pic, I’ll change it when I’ll get better ones.

Non so se ho filo abbastanza, quindi di sicuro faccio le orecchie e la mano dei guantini (con un avvio provvisorio), col filo rimasto farò per prima cosa la fascia in testa (se posso) e poi allungherò i polsini quanto più mi riesce.

Ho fatto le coste doppie perché mi piacciono di più; ma devo ricordarmi di USARE FERRI DI UNA MISURA IN MENO quando faccio i bordi a coste! Perché i modelli non lo dicono mai?
Ho cominciato il primo guantino con un pezzetto a coste, ma alla fine ho dovuto disfarlo e rifarlo daccapo. DISFARE LE COSTE DA SOTTO È UNA TRAGEDIA! Ma dovevo rifarle top-down per star certa di poterle allungare se mi resta filo.
Ho cominciato il secondo guantino con un avvio provvisorio e la parte della mano, perché le coste shiftano se ne faccio un po’ bottom-up e un po’ top-down!

31 ago: Finiti i guantini (esclusa la parte rosa). Ho usato un intero gomitolo e la lunghezza del polsino mi soddisfa. Spero che l’altro gomitolo sia sufficiente per la fascia in testa.

7 sett: Fatte le orecchie e cominciata la fascia per capelli.

9 sett: Fascia in sospeso. Fatte le orecchie interne.

15 sett: Dopo diversi tentativi, sono riuscita a fare per bene i cuscinetti a maglia rasata invece che a legaccio.

21 sett: Cuscinetti cuciti ai guantini. Storti, ma cuciti.

23 sett: Attaccato elastico alla fascia per capelli. Cucite orecchie interne a quelle esterne.

13 ott: Cucito primo orecchio alla fascia per capelli. L’ho provata e ho notato che è un po’ storta, ma non mi va di scucirla e ricucirla.

15 ott: Cucito secondo orecchio. L’ho messo decentrato per mantenere la giusta distanza dall’altro orecchio, quindi quando le orecchie sono giuste sulla testa mi trovo con l’elastico dietro fuori centro… Tanto le coprono i capelli, chi ci fa caso? Fatta anche una brutta foto, la cambierò quando ne avrò di migliori.

Nota sul filo rosa: trovato dalla mamma, un avanzo, non usato tutto ma più di metà. Non credo ce ne esca un altro paio di guantini, ma dovrebbe uscirne almeno un altro paio di orecchie.
