10/4/18 11:00 pm - I did a gauge swatch and decided to go with size 6 dpns. I don’t have a 16” cable needle so I’m just going to TRY to use the dpns. The ones I have are Boye, so metal, which means I have to cast on a bit tighter to keep them from sliding out. Of course, I can’t find my needle point protectors which would have helped with that. I already started once and was going good but somehow I got a twist in the knitting after I joined. I know it was all straight at the initial join so I got it twisted after the first row. I’m starting again and trying to keep my square of needles from doing other forms of geometry.
I am planning to knit a bunch of hats to donate to the local ER where they often have people come in without proper winter clothing.
10/5/18 4:30 am - I have finished 4 inches for the rim so it can be folded up.
10/6/18 11 pm - I finished the body of the hat and I’m ready to start the decreases.
10/7/18 2 am - Huston, we have a problem. I finished round 3 and only have about 10” of yarn left. Too bad I couldn’t have made it just a wee bit farther. I need to go garage diving. I know I have more of this.
10/7/18 3:30 am - I found some matching yarn vomit and was able to untangle it and was finally able to finish my hat! It doesn’t fit my younger son Riley who has the biggest head. I’ll have to try to make him a bigger one. I’ll try it on my older, skinny headed boy when he wakes up. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a picture of my hat on a human at some point.
