I used the visible join method to attach the square to the triangles.

Added some decreasing extra rounds in the end, made these shoes for a festival so I wanted them snug so that they stay on my feet while dancing! sweat_smile

Instead of crocheting around the edge of the sole I’ve woven through a nylon thread as shown in the progress photo.

Pushed the holes in with a hook but if I make another pair I drill them!
