Notes

Initially I was hesitant about trying this pattern as I tend to avoid sl st projects, however I’m really glad I gave it a try. I learned a new technique and sl st is not so scary now!

Using stash yarn. Sometimes I’m sensitive to wool so I may have to switch yarns-we’ll see!

Used knit rib option for middle section.

mods-
I used thinner yarn than the pattern suggests so I had to adjust:

  • Added 30 to the starting chain. TIP-use a larger hook for the starting chain. I used a 6.0mm for the chain, 5.00 for the rest.
  • Added 3 sts on each side for middle section.

I made 12 rows for a width of 2.75” My goal was to make an earwarmer that won’t mess up my hair so I went with a narrow band.

My ears are super sensitive to cold and wind. A windy day in the 60s bothers me so I added a second layer on the inside where the band covers my ears. Chained 15, worked ribbing for 10 rows. Made one for each side and then stitched them in.
