Modifications
I was concerned I would run out of the light blue so I made the main section until it measured 15”. Then I made the twists and decided to make the second half of the twist in solid dark sc. Also added a final finishing row of sl st.

Because my ears are super sensitive to cold and wind I added a layer of felt to the inside. I used fabric from the sleeve of an old flannel PJ top that was damaged beyond repair. The way they are sewed in creates two secret pockets! This was unintentional but who knows, maybe I can use them.

Mine ended up wider than the pattern . So I gathered and sewed the band at the back. This keeps the back from sliding up. Probably wouldn’t be necessary if I had adjusted for heavier yarn.
