Sedge stitch I from pg. 224 Reader’s Digest The Ultimate Sourcebook of Knitting and Crochet Stitches
5 yds = 13 units
2 rows = ~3/4”
8 units = ~6.5” long
9 units = 2.625 sq in
aim for 21” circumference, so try like 28 repeats, Ch 84 to start and join in round, definitely have more than enough yarn to just experiment

So it turns out I can’t work this particular stitch pattern in the round. Not to say it can’t be done, and I did even try what I thought was a creative idea to basically reverse the pattern between rows, but no, it just wasn’t working out the way I wanted, so I am working this flat and will seam it. Also realized I needed to make it from end to end instead of bottom edge to top edge so that the overall appearance of the ridges would be vertical instead of horizontal. Wound up doing ch30 to start, and I think I will need to do an odd number of rows to get the edges to line up for seaming.

Finally sewed the seam.
