Notes

This sweater was sold at Anthropologie for $375! I made it in two weeks with $30 of yarn, bwahahaha.

26Jan2013: This was so much fun to make! It’s ornate, crazy, gigantic-bulky and makes me look like a medieval football player, yeah!

I made a couple of mods.

  1. I did a sewed bind-off to connect all the ruffles, instead of binding-off, then sewing.

  2. The peplum was going to be too tight, so I added 2 ruffles (2 knit sections, 2 purl sections) in the middle of the 4 chart repeats. I anticipated mirroring that, but then it was too big. So, it’s symmetrical in the front, but not in the back. To do this right, add only 1 non decreasing/increasing ruffle (1 knit section, 1 purl section, but add an extra yarn over to keep the stitch counts even) after 2 repeats, then at the end.

  3. I omitted putting the peplum seam showing on the outside. First, that seemed weird, but second, since it was asymmetrical, it really wasn’t going to work.

Oh yeah, and this yarn sucks. Every ball had knots, and it’s a shed and pill-fest.
