27May2012: I really loved working on this pattern, and discovering the beautiful side of crochet. Every time I see another issue of Keito Dama I want to crochet everything in there! Really, this is one of the prettiest things I’ve made.
I only crocheted one thing before, and it was just endless DC (a bikini). Funny story: I never finished it because I lost one of the boobs on the NYC subway, and just couldn’t bring myself to do it again. I still have a mono-boob bikini sitting around. =)

Reading the pattern was do-able, though working with a wonderful Japanese lady does help, lol. (thanks, Nobuko!)

I actually did do a modification, even though I am a crochet newbie. For the last round, I did a chain of 5 instead of 6, going out from the center loop of each side. 6 was too floppy, it almost seemed like a mistake.

12Nov2011: My first real foray into crochet. Um, and Japanese patterns. I’m loving it, though it sure is a lot of the same square. I’m going to need some MAJOR blocking to stop this from curling. I think that I may also have to add an extra row of squares because it seems rather short.
