Notes

I’ve searched everywhere, including the awesome Fingerless Gloves Group here on Ravelry but haven’t quite found what was in my mind’s eye, so I decided to wing it.

I wanted to create a fingerless glove of the type I imagine elderly Victorian ladies would wear. The result is Goth-looking and very cool, and hopefully will intimidate most males and scare small children. ;)

I named the gloves after a character in Charles Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities. Madame DeFarge was always knitting, and in the end it was discovered that her knitting secretly encoded the names of those people she would have killed.

I took notes while I was making these and actually wrote out the pattern while making the 2nd glove. I’ll definitely be making these again, and I LOVE the softness of the Micro Spun yarn. Next black ones I make I will use a finer yarn or cotton.
