Notes

Modifications to make the Wallaby into a cardigan:

I added 5 stitches for bands (only 5 because these are the ones that overlap). Working back and forth, I knitted 5 stitches garter at the beginning and end of each row of the body and hood. I started buttonholes about an inch from the bottom and then every 3 inches after that one. Buttonholes are just a yarn over, knit2tog. I did adjust the center of the armhole a couple of stitches because of the button bands. Just consider the center stitch of each band your center front stitch since the bands will overlap. Then count from there to find the center of each underarm.

Texas road trip knitting! I am using the Wallaby pattern as a guide. Carl wanted a cardigan rather than a pullover so I have added button bands knit on as I go.

Day 1 - 3/8/2013: Knitted about 7 inches of the body. (DH did most of the driving)

Day 2 - 3/9/2013: Not much progress as I drove more and we stopped to visit friends. (DH claims he knit 30 rows but had to rip back because he forgot to add the buttonholes.)

Day 3 - 3/10/2013: More sight seeing but I made some progress.
