a cap for Vanessa
My hubby is part of an DJ-collective, it’s very familiar and supportive but also crazy chaotic. Mostly we come together to party but also support each other in hard times… A while ago another DJs wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. I’ve just met her once before but she’s a cool tough woman and you can feel the love and friendship the couple shares. Recently began with chemo. Vanessa writes about her personal battle against cancer on her blog Oh f * ck, ich habe Brustkrebs( in German)
when her husband asked me to knit a cancer cap for her, I immediately said yes.
I don’t know her well yet but she’s not the girly kind of person who dresses in pink or pastel.
I guess she’s having about six kinds of blacks in her closet and is happy about that.
Just knowing the hat needs to be lightweight and non-scratching I started searching for matching yarn in my stash. Only guessing her color preferences. I ended up using 4-ply yarn in 7 colors. I arranged them in a fade from black/purple to silver grey, and added some pops of green to distort the pattern.
The beanie comes in medium adult size and is slightly longer to archive a more slouchier look.
