This is my first time with mosaic knitting! What a lovely blanket pattern. I decided to stick with the original colors because: A. I had the teal and the grey in my stash. B. Josh and Chelsea had no color preference, but mentioned Turquoise as an option to reference Santa Fe. C. I really like it.

I am really hoping to bang this one out quickly. I am in the first repeat and it is very engaging and fast. Plus I’d like to just have this on the needles and out to them soon. I’d love to not have this linger and languish on the needles. Chelsea isn’t due till December, but it would just feel good to focus on this and get it done quickly. I think a blanket this small is very useful for small babies. Good for strollers, etc. Babies don’t need big blankets.

I am going to go against the pattern and with my instincts/experience with one aspect. I am going to block the center before I pick up stitches for the border. I just don’t want to have done all that work and still have a ruffly edging.

As always, Rios is a reliable dream to work with. Soft, brilliant colors, and a pleasure to knit with.
