This will be Christmas 2018 present for my darling sister in law. So excited to get working on it and ultimately to give it to her.

I started working on this yesterday (after I spent some time winding my new yearn once it got here!. I’ve decided to work all 12 blocks at once. So I am working on one until the next color change, weaving in ends, and doing the same rows on the next until all 12 are at the same point. I’ve got all the colors wound into cakes and the blocks are going from one plastic bag to another when I’ve worked the current row(s). So far this seems to be an ideal set up for me. I am not having to paw through to find which ones I haven’t done, all my ends are woven in instead of waiting until the end, and I don’t have burn out on the pattern and avoidance issues starting later blocks. We shall see how this progression goes. I will keep this page updated fairly regularly. My goal is for every color change but we shall see. I might skip a couple here and there.

I finished part 1 for all 12 blocks and love them!. I started the grey and was sad. I was worried it was way too dark. I knew I selected a dark grey but looking at it against the orange and I was worried I needed to order a much lighter grey ASAP. So I decided to do part 2 and 3 of one block before making a decision. The first corner of part 2 had me sad. The second I wasn’t thrilled but it was a bit less shocking. by the time i had all 4 corners I started to think “O maybe this can work”. Then I did part 3. After the first row of part 3 I was ok with the grey. By the end of part 3 I was in love with it. It really pops the vibrant color. I’m still a little worried about some of my more muted colors but I think it will be ok. So I’m going to work on part 2 for the remaining 11 blocks and then post again. I am right on schedule for this project so far!
