19 days from start to finish. Some of those were long days of course (10-12 hours) but it never felt tiresome or boring to work on. I love how easy it is to change things in the pattern. Like I made the skirt XL but the body in Medium. I also added a repeat of the lace for the skirt. I wanted it to be very full and end up below my knees. This is now my every occasion dress. Everything from weddings to funerals to just evening where I feel like dressing up. It has a timeless classic feel to it which I hope never truly seems out of style (and can be updated using accessories I think like belts, scarves, different colors of crinoline to contrast…or whatever else the occasion may call for) I couldnt have gotten a dress that fits this good and feels this nice for the price I paid for this project so I am incredibly happy.

I’ve really only just begun but I love this dress already. The yarn is soft and works up so easily it’s like a dream. The pattern is also clear and easy to read and get into a rhythm with. Cant wait to keep stitching.

I made a few changes to make it MY dress (I just cant help myself). First I added an extra repeat for the skirt pattern. I wanted the length to be below my knees. I may not have needed it but I love the length as it is about halfway down my calves. Makes it appropriate for any occasion really. Second I wanted the skirt to be nice and full so I worked it up as an extra large then went down gradually to a medium once I was at the body of the dress. I really like how it drapes. I am about 20 rows from the armhole shaping. So nearing the finish line.

I cant believe how fast this dress has worked up. I just finished the back today. I still have to work up the sleeves but still.. I think this maybe the fastest article of (adult) clothing I’ve ever worked on. I’m not sure if it is just how pleasant the yarn is to work with or the pattern itself but none of it has felt tedious. Sitting outside for a few hours, srirchint, and listening to an audiobook has been amazing with this dress!. I love it. And it fits like a glove on me (my gauge was larger than the patterns but I worked out I could just fo down to a medium working on the body and it worked. It fits perfectly). The neckline is perfect (high enough to not have exposed cleavage but not too high (this is a dress for all kinds of events that come up including, unfortunately funerals in the future so I wanted it to be modest but also comfortable and easy to wear but something I could also brighten up with accessories for happier events too). It really is just an all around wonderful dress.! Cant wait to get the sleeves on it (though it does already look nice even sleeveless)
